UpDating at Irving Plaza

If you’ve never been to an UpDating live show, you probably have a lot of questions that hopefully will get answered here. That way, when you head to the Irving Plaza on Friday, September 20th, you’ll know exactly what you’re getting yourself into. Are the “couple” who will be on stage at the Plaza paid actors or folks from the crowd? They are, in fact, folks from the crowd! The first thing that you need to do is buy a ticket to the UpDating show at the Plaza, then register on their site to have a chance to be picked to go on stage.

They do this because, obviously, if you were to pick the couple directly from the crowd, that blind date concept would be ruined! Comedian Brandon Berman hosts the show, and his role is to put the couple in uncomfortable situations. At the same time, the audience gets a chance to interact with them and ask them different questions. Usually, the goal is to come up with an uncomfortable topic that everyone in attendance is going to have a chance to chime in on. Even if you’re not picked to go on stage and potentially find love, the show itself is a fun time. You can come out with friends or even your significant other and have a blast with all of the different things that are going to be going on from the stage.
