“Everything will be just awful when we’re around”
“As we've been putting together the 20th anniversary reissue of Crimes, what I'm struck by most listening back is the energy,” singer Jordan Blilie commented at the tour and reissue announcement. “It feels both feral and weirdly focused, like whatever chemistry we'd been tinkering with had finally crystallized. It was on stage, though, where that energy reached its most joyful, reckless, collective state. It's an experience that never really goes away, and one we wanted to share again. So, we'll be playing a handful of shows this fall. We hope to see you there.”
Started in 1997, from a garage by then teenagers Jordan Blilie, Johnny Whitney and Mark Gajadhar and later on joined by Morgan Henderson and Cody Votolato. The Blood Brothers were/are again a post-hardcore punk band that gained notoriety, and what can only be described as a cult following, during and after their ten-year reign. The band play a multi-genre blend consisting of punk, rock, screamo, emo and indie rock. But it's their ability to capture a diverse crowd that earned them their popularity and reputation as one of the most innovative groups in music. Even after breaking up, The Blood Brothers would occasionally reunite for several shows, much to the delight of their fans. And this current 2024 tour for the album, Crimes, comes at a time when fans have been dying to see more of the band.
Of course, this is all happening in The City That Never Sleeps, New York City, at one of the most iconic venues in the country, which has hosted stars like Amy Winehouse, The Rolling Stones and even Nirvana, plus many more.
