Pedro Capo at Irving Plaza

Pedro Capo is part of Puerto Rican entertainment royalty! His grandfather, Bobby Capo, was one of the most popular singers from the island, singing boleros in the 40s. So much so that he married a former Miss Puerto Rico. Bobby Capo Jr. Pedro’s father also went into the family business of music, and therefore, it made perfect sense that Pedro would follow. Even with this lineage, it wasn’t necessarily smooth sailing for Pedro throughout his career. That may have been a blessing in disguise that you’re going to be able to benefit from if you head to his concert at the Irving Plaza on November 4th. Sure, Pedro’s been putting albums out since the mid-2000s, but he did a ton of musical theater work, particularly off-Broadway in “Celia.” That means he knows how to play the crowd, and he’ll get you going even on a Monday night in cold November!

He also worked writing songs for Ricky Martin in a dream team that also featured Don Omar, but of course, everything changed when “Calma” hit it big! The Farruko remix gave the song new life and Pedro some Latin Grammys to go with it. Since that hit, he’s continued to put out these good vibe songs like “La Fiesta.” That brings up a good question: who are you going to bring to Pedro Capo’s Latin party at the Plaza? This is a show that if your girl wants to go to on a Monday, it’s a good way to start off the week. If you have a group of friends who love Boricua music, that’s also a great idea right there.
