It's the Buzzkill World Tour! In high anticipation of her upcoming debut LP, Filipino-American singer-songwriter Lyn Lapid just dropped massive news. The "Producer Man" hitmaker is embarking on a huge tour, following her album's release this April. From May through summer, she'll be performing special nights across the U.S., U.K. Europe, and Canada. 

Three singles in, she's given fans a taste of what to expect through "buttons", "coraline", and "i’ll be happy when". The newest song unveiled is a vulnerable track that gets everyone hooked on her glitchy beats. With confessional lyrics shining through, her signature ability to inject emotions in every melody & line gets everyone crying a river. 

An album inspired by her feelings of isolation and tangled emotions as she moved from suburban Maryland to the bustling city of Los Angeles, it's an emotional rollercoaster she took into writing. Now, we're all in to hear her smooth lyrical melodies. 

"I'm listing all of these things I thought I needed to accomplish in order to be happy," the singer shared via a press release. "It dove into wanting friendships with substance. I'm just wondering, 'Will I be able to have these things? Is it even worth trying for, or am I too late?"

Over the past years, she spent the time constructing what would eventually make up Buzzkill. Sharing how she felt like a "buzzkill" when she'd go out, the singer reflects "I needed to accept that I shouldn't have to force myself to settle for surface-level friendships and relationships."

A relatable journey of highs, lows, and finding your place in the world, it's an album that'll share self-acceptance and confidence amidst tough days and drastic life changes. 

Where It All Began

Lyn Lapid grew up studying classical piano and playing the violin in an orchestra before she started making covers. In 2018, she posted her covers on YouTube and Instagram, gaining a following for her smooth and emotive vocals. By February 20202, she started writing her own songs. Her track "Producer Man" became viral, telling a tale of her experience about a bad producer. An a capella version on TikTok gained her huge attention, amassing 50+ million views before the song was actually released. 

"He told me how a bunch of people in the industry start out by putting out stuff they might hate if it means they’ll get popular first," Lapid shared via Rolling Stone. "I didn’t want to enter the music industry that way."

Sharing how the producer in question told her that her music won't sell "because it was too original — too different," Lyn was not happy about that. She turned that sour interaction into a massive hit. Now, her originality definitely shines through.
