KMFDM stands as one of the most well known industrial acts to emerge in the eighties. Fun fact: The band’s initials stand for "Kein Mitleid für die Mehrheit" which can be translated as "No Pity for the Majority." With their bold, propaganda-styled record covers and industrial rock anthems, KMFDM have placed more focus on pulsing dance tunes and provocative messages than their darker contemporaries. Counting several members along the way, KMFDM's leader has remained the frontman and founder Sascha Konietzko. He’s a man of many talents. A songwriter, producer, mixer, programmer, sampler, vocalist, percussionist, bassist, and electronic gadgeteer - to be exact. Also joining the legendary Sascha Konietzko is the current lineup: Lucia Cifarelli (vocals, keyboards), Andy Selway (drums, programming), and Andee Blacksugar (guitars, backing vocals).

Originally formed in Paris, KMFDM moved to the U.S. in the early nineties and became a mainstay on the Billboard Dance charts, crashing clubs with smash hits such as "Naive," "Split," and "Vogue." The multinational rock outfit, now based in Germany, added to its huge discography in 2024. To mark 40 years since forming, KMFDM dropped their 23rd studio album on February 2.
