With a new album brewing to be released this year, the metal core band As I Lay Dying has announced their US summer tour this year. Kicking off this July 9 at Santa Cruz, California, the 26-date tour will be their first trek after former members Nick Pierce and Josh Gilbert left the group. Not to mention their canceled tour in 2022 which left all fans in dismay. So the new album and upcoming tour will be a vindication for the band who has been through tough times in the past years.
For As I Lay Dying fans, their upcoming album is something they are excited about, most especially that the band's most recent album, "Shaped by Fire," was only released in 2019. With songs like "My Own Grave," "Redefined," and the title track, the album entered the top 50 rank of Billboard's 200 Chart. It also ranked significantly well in many territories, including Canada, Australia, Belgium, Switzerland, and many others. Thus, the new album is nothing short of a treat to their fans, who have been waiting for almost five years for the band to release new materials.
The Tim Lambesis-led band will be stopping at Los Angeles's The Wiltern on July 24. As part of their summer tour, the band will also feature support from the Utah-based deathcore band Chelsea Grin and the progressive metal super-group Entheos.
Known for songs like "Recreant," "Sing to the Grave," and "Hostage," Chelsea Grin will sport their signature blend of death metal and metalcore. Like As I Lay Dying, the band's heavy guitar riffs, guttural vocals, and intense breakdowns will fill The Wiltern stage with intensity like no other. Entheos, on the other hand, is an inventive technical death metal unit whose hits include "The World Without Us," "Black Static," and "In Purgatory," among many others. With these incredible bands opening for the As I Lay Dying, this concert is sure to be one for the books.
