Emei at Irving Plaza

Pop star Emei just announced an international tour that's taking her across North America and Europe. "so excited to announce the rabbithole tour! cannot believe i’m going out on the road again in february to 37 cities!!! this show is gonna be insane…" Emei captioned her tour announcement on Facebook. As of writing, her new EP, RABBITHOLE, remains unreleased. It's due for release on November 15, 2024. There are two singles currently out: “ALL THESE KIDS” and “RABBITHOLE”.

“‘RABBITHOLE’ sounds and feels like falling and panic and your mind racing,” says Emei. “We play with whimsical magical touches and racing sounds and all sorts of breakdowns. It touches upon how even though I’ve tried mantras and affirmations and breathing exercises, it often just makes me fall deeper and deeper down into the rabbithole.”

Emei gained popularity on social media, and from the success of her debut album SCATTERBRAIN, which received over 70 million streams on Spotify. At 15 years old, she took a break from school to compete in Chinese Idol, in which she placed third. A few years later, she dropped her first single, “Late to the Party" and it threw her onto the internet viral.

Fun Fact: The name "Emei" is a mix of the singer's Chinese name, An Mei, and her English nickname, Emmy.
