“Everything will be just awful when we’re around”

The band is hitting up 11 cities over 16 dates across North America, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago and two back to back nights here in New York on the 13th and 14th of December. This will be the first time the Blood Brothers have re-united and toured in over 10 years, and they bring the 20th anniversary reissue of their seminal 2004 album, ‘Crimes’, out to the party.

“As we’ve been putting together the 20th anniversary reissue of ‘Crimes’, what I’m struck by most listening back is the energy. It feels both feral and weirdly focused, like whatever chemistry we’d been tinkering with had finally crystallized. It was on stage, though, where that energy reached its most joyful, reckless, collective state. It’s an experience that never really goes away, and one we wanted to share again. So, we’ll be playing a handful of shows this fall. We hope to see you there.” Singer Jordan Blilie said at the tour and reissue announcement.

The Blood Brothers

Forming in Seattle, back in 1997, by then teenagers Jordan Blilie, Johnny Whitney, Mark Gajadhar and members who later on joined, such as Morgan Henderson and Cody Votolato. The Blood Brothers set out to create a new form of punk which incorporated elements from multiple genres such as Indie Rock, Emo and Screamo, capturing fans from these other genres. They released their debut album ‘This Adultery Is Ripe’ in 2000, and in total, the band released five studio albums, ending with 2006’s ‘Young Machetes’ before breaking up in 2007.

Despite this huge blow to their fan base, the band continued to grow in popularity, earning additional fans over the years, with some critics often comparing their influence to that of a cult. They reunited for a brief spell in 2014, performing a handful of shows, and have been dormant ever since, with all the members moving onto different projects.

So, for a very spooky Friday the 13th in The City That Never Sleeps, get to New York's Irving Plaza for the ultimate in Post Hardcore Punk! Get your tickets today from Ticket Squeeze, just hit that "Get Tickets" button as quick as you can.
