Two decades since the bunch dropped music not expecting to gain much attention, they found themselves nominated for a Mercury Prize and a loyal following for decades to come. Just as in their “Ladyflash” days, the band’s energy continues to soar with their infectious beats. Two decades later, they’re releasing a reissue of the beloved album, and performing it LIVE ON STAGE in its entirety.

The new edition of their debut LP is scheduled for release on September 13 via Memphis Industries. Sharing a CDR version of “The Power is On” and a remix of “Everyone’s a V.I.P. to Someone”, the band will be dropping a new mix every month throughout the year, also teasing a couple of artists in new renditions.

Known for its iconic experimentation with influences of 80s’ hip-hop and Motown, the album received critical acclaim around the world. Pitchfork shares in its review of the album that The Go! Team “rolls early-80s action theme songs, vintage hip-hop, Saturday morning cartoons and cheerleading squads into one sick party record bursting with surly, overdriven guitars, triumphant trumpet lines, and battling drum assaults that seem to break through walls with the barreling force of a thousand Kool-Aid men,” perfectly encapsulating the beautiful sonic world that the band created.
