Irving Plaza
The most over-the-top, eye-popping drag show is headed to Irving Plaza in New York on Sunday, 26th May 2024. The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula Season 5 Tour has a very busy schedule this summer. In addition to the Brothers and their performances, the tour features Chinese performer Niohuru X, the winner of the fifth season of the hit show! Fellow finalists Blackberri, Orkgotik, and Throb Zombie also made the cut to tour with the brothers across the country. You better be ready to expect the unexpected. Some of the best dresses that the brothers have put on display so far will grace the stage at the Irving Plaza. Once the brothers utter their famous phrase, “Meet our monsters!” you can expect all hell to break loose.
Their live show gives fans a chance to experience longer, unedited performances from some of the characters that they fell in love with through the reality TV show. When the shows are being tapped, you also miss out on the judging. However, it’s still a great chance to immerse yourself in a horror/drag extravaganza. The Boulet Brothers show had some very humble beginnings in 2016. As a duo they were already heavy players in the horror and drag scenes. The reality TV show, however, is what brought them to the mainstream. Just for reference, the winner of the first season of the show got $10,000 in prize money. The show actually aired on YouTube before being picked up by different streaming platforms. Niohuru X, who won season 5, took home 100,000 in prize money, plus the opportunity to become part of this tour!
It is very much an adult-oriented show that’s going to be on display at the Irving Plaza on Sunday, May 26th. However, one of the reasons why this tour has become so popular is that anyone can truly enjoy the show. The performances and the costumes appeal to a wide audience. Although the drag theme is very much in plain sight, the production and the show itself offer an experience that mixes gore and amazement. You’ll miss the opportunity to see the monsters up close and personal, but you’ll be in a much more comfortable spot.
Season 6 of the TV show is probably going to start filming some time early next year. This tour sees the show play in a different city almost every other day for the next three months.
